Welcome to Iris India
Our mission, vision and purpose
Paul said, “Those who are of faith are the descendents of Abraham” (Gal. 3:7) and Jesus said that true children of Abraham will “do the works of Abraham” (John 8:39). We demonstrate our faith and spiritual lineage when we seek to live out the promise which God made to him: “In you all the families [tribes, nations, races, cultures] of the earth will be blessed” (Gen 12:3).
Sadly, though, many Christians all throughout history have instead thought that their mission was to conquer rather than bless. But Jesus never called the church to dominate, shake, conquer or control the nations for him. Rather, we are called to bless them!
Our mission at Iris India is to bless the nations by proclaiming and demonstrating the love of God. In some cases, this can be as simple as hugging hurting people and reminding them that Christ is with them always. Or it may be weeping with Hindu friends when they’ve lost loved ones.
In other cases it calls for extreme measures, and that’s the main reason Iris India exists. We are called to rescue kidnapped-and-trafficked victims of the south Asian sex-trade: rehabilitating sex workers and putting their kids in school so they can have healing, hope and a real destiny. At the time of this posting, our primary goal is to acquire land and build facilities for this rescue ministry.
And when it comes to Christian leadership training in India, we model and teach servant-leadership, which all comes back to the same first principles: serve God by serving the needy; proclaim to everyone that “God is love” (1 John 4:16); demonstrate that love not just in words but in deeds; and in doing so bless the nations.
Thank you for visiting this site. Our prayer is that the time you spend here will bring you closer to Jesus and fill you with the zeal of his love; and that you will continue in the mission of blessing “all the families of the earth.”
